Privacy Policy for Lucidly

We collect information that you provide directly to us through the App’s features, and a small amount of technical information about how the App is used:

• Account Information: Your email address, which we use to send your sign-in codes. You may also add your first name and a profile photo. Before a photo is uploaded, the App removes its location and camera details. Photos are stored privately and are visible only to you.
• Protocol and Dose Data: Substance types, dosage amounts and units, protocol schedules (e.g., Fadiman, Stamets, intuitive or custom patterns), and dose logs, including when you took or skipped a dose and any notes you add.
• Daily Check-Ins: Self-reported scores (1-10) for mood, focus, creativity, energy, social connection, anxiety, sleep quality, appetite and how strongly you felt a dose physically, plus any notes you write.
• Journal and Companion: Your journal entries and the companion’s replies, daily intentions and reflections, the companion voice you choose, and short summaries the companion keeps so it can remember earlier days.
• Cycle & Mood (optional): If you turn this feature on, your period dates, cycle symptoms and notes, and the cycle recaps written for you.
• App Settings: Your preferences for notifications (times and tones), theme choices, and security settings like PIN codes or stealth mode.
• Subscription Status: Whether you have Premium or are in a free trial, and the related purchase records from Apple or Google. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.
• Usage and Diagnostics: Which features you use (for example, that a check-in was saved), basic details such as the type of protocol you set up, app errors, performance measurements, and your device type and app version. These records are tied to a random account ID, not to your name or email, and never include the text you write. Like any internet service, our analytics provider can see your IP address and may use it to estimate your approximate region. We never collect your precise location.

We use your information only to provide and improve the App:

• Personalized Tracking: To maintain your protocol schedule, remind you about doses and check-ins (reminders are scheduled on your device), and calculate streaks and adherence.
• Insights: To build your personal baseline, Insights and progress charts from your logged data.
• The Companion: To write your daily intention, journal replies, Insights reflections and cycle recaps (see section 3).
• Account Management and Security: To sign you in, keep your data private to you, and provide the PIN lock and stealth mode.
• Sharing: To show a practitioner you have linked the parts you choose (see section 4).
• Subscriptions: To unlock Premium and your free trial.
• Improving the App: To understand which features are used and to find and fix errors.
• Email: To send your sign-in codes and occasional updates about the App. Every update email has an unsubscribe link.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal or wellness data. We do not show ads, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Your data is never used to train AI models.

The companion is Lucidly’s writing feature, part of Premium. Its replies are written by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. Each time the companion writes something for you, we send Anthropic the information that piece needs: for example, your recent journal entries, check-ins, doses and protocol, the companion’s summaries of earlier days and, if you use Cycle & Mood, your cycle data.

Anthropic processes this information only to write the reply and send it back to us. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use it to train its models and keeps it only for a limited period. We store the companion’s replies in your account so you can read them again.

You can turn off the companion’s daily intention and journal replies at any time in the App’s Settings, next to the companion’s voice.

Sharing is optional. If someone you work with uses Lucidly, they can give you a code or a link. When you enter it, you choose what they can see:

• Check-ins: Each day’s ratings, and each metric’s average beside your baseline.
• Doses and protocols: Each dose with its day, time and amount, the days you skipped or missed, your adherence and streak, and your protocols (substance, strain, dose and any change to it, your name for the protocol, its rhythm, start date and rests).
• Journal (optional): The dates, titles and tags of your own entries, or the entries themselves.
• Cycle & Mood (optional): Your current phase, the day of your cycle and that week’s symptoms.
• Your notes (optional): What you wrote alongside a check-in or a dose.

Nothing is shared until you choose. You can change what they see, pause sharing or remove them at any time in Settings → Sharing, where you can also see their page as they see it and when they last looked. The companion’s replies and your conversations with it are never shared. Practitioners see your first name at most, never your email address.

Your practitioner may keep private session notes in Lucidly, which you can’t see. If they close their practice or delete their account, sharing ends and those notes are deleted.

If you use Lucidly as a practitioner, we store your email address, the practice details you add, the labels you give your clients, your session notes and dates, and a record of when you viewed each client’s page, which that client can see. Your notes are visible only to you.

We use a small number of service providers to run the App. Each one processes data on our behalf, only for the purpose below, under its own security and privacy commitments:

• Supabase: Hosting, database, photo storage and sign-in. Your data is stored on Supabase’s servers in the United States.
• Anthropic: Writes the companion’s replies (see section 3).
• PostHog: Usage analytics and error reports, tied to a random account ID.
• RevenueCat: Manages subscriptions, using your account ID and your purchase records from Apple or Google.
• Resend: Delivers our emails, using your email address.
• Apple and Google: Distribute the App and process subscription payments under their own privacy policies.

These providers may process data in the United States. We do not share your information with anyone else, except a practitioner you choose to share with (section 4), unless the law requires it.

The security of your data is our priority. We utilize the following measures to protect your information:

• Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard protocols.
• Access Controls: Our database uses Row Level Security (RLS), which ensures that only you can access your own data via your unique authentication ID, and a practitioner you have linked sees only what you have chosen. Profile photos are kept in private storage and shown through links that expire.
• App Lock: You can add a PIN to lock the App and use stealth mode for extra privacy on your device.

You have full control over your information:

• Access and Correction: You can view and update your profile, protocols, logs and journal at any time within the App.
• Export: In Settings, under Your data, you can export your journal as a Markdown file, or everything (protocols, doses, check-ins, journal and cycle logs) as one JSON file.
• Optional Features: Cycle & Mood, your profile photo, sharing with a practitioner and the companion’s daily intention and journal replies are optional, and you can turn them off at any time.
• Email and Notifications: You can unsubscribe from update emails using the link in any of them, and turn reminders off in the App or in your phone’s settings.
• Data Deletion: You have the right to delete your account and all associated data (see Account and Data Deletion below).

We keep your information for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our database right away. Copies in routine backups expire on their normal schedule. Usage and diagnostic records tied to your random account ID are kept to help us improve the App; email us and we will delete them too.

Lucidly is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will take immediate steps to delete it.

Lucidly is a tracking tool and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. You should always consult with a qualified healthcare provider before beginning any new wellness protocol.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the App and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
